A delightful treat made with a buttery crust, crunchy pecans, rich caramel, and silky chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Extra chopped pecans
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Drizzled caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Cut in the cold, cubed butter.
  3. Continue cutting the butter until the mixture resembles coarse, sandy crumbs. Press it evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle the pecan halves evenly over the crust.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine 2/3 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of brown sugar for the caramel layer. Place over medium heat.
  6. Continue cooking and stirring for exactly one minute after the mixture starts boiling.
  7. Carefully pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the pecans and crust.
  8. Place the pan in your preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  9. Immediately after removing the pan from the oven, sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the hot bars.
  10. Once softened, spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
