A simple and quick Turkish bread recipe that can be made on the stovetop without an oven. Perfect for pairing with dips or as a wrap.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl: flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Pour in water and olive oil, stirring gently until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a flat circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place each piece of dough in it, cooking for about 3–4 minutes on each side.
  6. Serve the bread warm with your favorite dips or as a wrap.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat on the skillet before serving.
