A vibrant and festive dessert that combines moist vanilla cake with colorful jello and whipped topping, ideal for family gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 3 cups water (for preparing the cake mix)
  • 1 package of colorful jello (various flavors)
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • Sprinkles or colorful toppings (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Mix: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine your vanilla cake mix with 3 cups of water. Mix until smooth.
  2. Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Cool Down the Cake: Once the cake is out of the oven, let it cool for about 10-15 minutes in the pan.
  4. Poke Holes in the Cake: Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a straw, poke holes evenly throughout the cake.
  5. Add Jello for Color and Flavor: Prepare your colorful jello according to the package instructions with 2 cups of water. Let it cool slightly, then pour it over the cake.
  6. Chill the Cake: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours, or overnight if possible.
  7. Top with Whipped Topping: Once chilled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cooled cake.
  8. Garnish with Sprinkles: Add your sprinkles or any colorful toppings to finish.

Notes

Allow the cake to cool completely before applying the jello to prevent melting. Feel free to experiment with different jello flavors.
