These delightful cruffins combine the flaky layers of croissants with the soft sweetness of muffins, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup jam or chocolate spread
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 4×4 inch squares.
  3. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  4. Brush each square of puff pastry with melted butter, then sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar, adding a spoonful of jam or chocolate spread in the center.
  5. Roll each square into a tube and shape it into a muffin-like form.
  6. Place each cruffin in a muffin tin and brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with coffee or tea. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month.
