Deliciously crispy taquitos filled with shredded chicken, cream cheese, and cheddar, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 10 small flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for frying (Approximately 1 inch deep)
  • Salsa, guacamole, chopped cilantro for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the cooked shredded chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Take a small flour tortilla and place about 2-3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center, then roll tightly.
  3. Heat enough vegetable oil in a large frying pan to achieve a depth of about 1 inch over medium-high heat.
  4. Carefully place the rolled taquitos seam-side down into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve the taquitos hot alongside salsa, guacamole, and fresh chopped cilantro.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for about 10-15 minutes to regain crispiness.
