A deliciously creamy and tangy cream cheese frosting that’s perfect for cakes and cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese in a large mixing bowl for 2 minutes until smooth.
  2. Add the softened butter and beat for another 2 minutes until pale and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the sifted powdered sugar in three additions, beating well after each.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and fine sea salt, then beat until the frosting is thick, smooth, and glossy.
  5. Adjust consistency if needed by chilling or adding milk.
