A luxurious, guilt-free dark chocolate mousse made with cottage cheese that is rich in flavor and high in protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth, stirring every 15 seconds.
  2. Combine the cottage cheese, melted chocolate, cocoa powder, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  4. Transfer the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Enjoy your mousse chilled, optionally topped with fresh berries or whipped cream.

Notes

This mousse can be easily made a day ahead and keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For a vegan version, substitute cottage cheese with silken tofu and use maple syrup as the sweetener.
