  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the crumb topping in a separate bowl.
  7. Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, sprinkle with half of the crumb topping, then add the remaining batter and top with the remaining crumb topping.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
