Delightful donuts filled with a luscious pocket of cookie dough and chocolate chips, perfect for brunch or a special treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup edible cookie dough
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
  4. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Be patient here—getting the right temperature ensures that the donuts will fry up perfectly!
  5. Fry the Donuts: Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil. Fry until the donuts turn golden brown, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Drain the Donuts: Once fried, carefully remove the donuts from the oil, letting the excess oil drip off. Place them on paper towels to drain.
  7. Fill with Cookie Dough: Once the donuts have cooled slightly, cut a slit into the side of each donut. Fill generously with edible cookie dough and sprinkle in chocolate chips for extra deliciousness.
  8. Dust and Serve: Finish with a light dusting of powdered sugar if desired, and serve while they’re still warm!

Notes

These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
