A classic Italian dessert that combines layers of delicate ladyfingers soaked in coffee and a rich mascarpone cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisking the Egg Yolks and Sugar: In a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale. Add milk and cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Whipping the Heavy Cream: In a large bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form, transforming it into a fluffy mound of deliciousness.
  3. Folding in the Mascarpone: Fold the mascarpone into the cooled egg mixture, ensuring a silky-smooth blend that will provide the ultimate creaminess.
  4. Dipping the Ladyfingers: Combine cooled coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee, allowing them to soak up the flavor without becoming soggy.
  5. Layering the Tiramisu: Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers in a dish, then spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top. Repeat this process, creating indulgent layers of flavor.
  6. Chilling Time: Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight, allowing the flavors to meld and intensify.
  7. Final Touch: Before serving, dust with cocoa powder to give it that classic finishing touch, making it as beautiful as it is delicious.
