A comforting and classic lasagna recipe perfect for family gatherings, layered with rich flavors and textures.

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  4. Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Prepare a baking dish by spreading a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom.
  6. Layer 3 noodles over the sauce, then spread half the ricotta mixture, followed by one-third of the mozzarella and another layer of sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with marinara sauce and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Feel free to add spinach or mushrooms for additional nutrition. You can make this ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
