A comforting dish that features golden-brown chicken paired with rich marinara and gooey mozzarella cheese.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  3. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Beat the eggs in a bowl until well mixed.
  5. Mix together the bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture and then into the breadcrumb mixture.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  8. Place the chicken in a baking dish and cover with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-dipping the chicken in the egg and breadcrumb mixture. Experiment with different cheeses for added flavor.
