Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat the oven and prepare muffin tin. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
Combine the dry ingredients. In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
Whisk the wet ingredients. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine dry and wet ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Fill muffin cups. Fill each muffin cup halfway, add a small scoop of chocolate chips, and top off with more batter.
Bake the muffins for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Prepare the cinnamon sugar mixture. Mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
Coat muffins in butter and sugar. Brush tops with melted butter and dip in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Enjoy your muffins! Allow them to cool completely before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using Greek yogurt instead of butter or using nutmeg for a twist.
