  • 45 Sweet potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Cream or milk
  • Optional: Marshmallows or nuts for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes thinly, about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Mix the melted butter with brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Layer the sweet potatoes in a baking dish, pouring the butter mixture over each layer.
  5. Pour cream or milk over the layered potatoes until just covered.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, add optional toppings, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until tender and golden brown.

Notes

For even cooking, slice the sweet potatoes consistently. You can add a dash of nutmeg or ginger for extra flavor. If you prefer a crispy topping, broil for the last few minutes.
