  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup strawberries (pureed or diced)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Glaze (optional): powdered sugar and milk to thin

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, yeast, and cinnamon.
  2. Heat Milk and Butter: In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm, then pour into dry ingredients.
  3. Mix in the Egg: Add the large egg and mix well until combined.
  4. Incorporate Remaining Flour: Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft, sticky dough forms.
  5. Knead the Dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Let Dough Rise: Cover the kneaded dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  7. Prepare the Filling: Roll out the dough and spread a mixture of cream cheese, strawberries, and powdered sugar on top.
  8. Roll and Slice: Tightly roll the dough into a log and cut into slices.
  9. Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake to Perfection: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Optional Glaze Drizzle: Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
