Soft, fluffy, and gooey cinnamon rolls filled with aromatic cinnamon and brown sugar, topped with a creamy frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package (0.25 oz) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk (heated)
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, and salt.
  2. Prepare Wet Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and the egg, whisking gently to blend.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick, then spread with softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  7. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into eight pieces.
  8. Place the slices in a greased baking pan and let them rise again for approximately 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix the powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of milk until smooth for the frosting.
  11. Drizzle the frosting over the cooled rolls and enjoy!

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond or oat milk and use vegan butter. You can also refrigerate the rolls overnight after shaping and bake them in the morning.
