Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs.
  3. Mix until a dough forms and knead for about 5 minutes, enjoying the texture as it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it rise: Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Add sweetness: Spread with softened butter, then sprinkle generously with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly into a log and slice into pieces.
  8. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
