Soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese icing, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt.
  3. Merge the mixtures: Add the yeast mixture to the butter mixture, stirring gently to blend.
  4. Knead the dough: Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Turn it out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  5. Allow to rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough: Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Sprinkle the sweetness: Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the buttered dough.
  8. Shape the rolls: Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into slices.
  9. Let rise again: Place the slices in a greased pan, spacing them slightly apart, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake and enjoy: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Notes

For best results, ensure your milk is warm but not hot. The dough can be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated overnight.
