Crispy and golden churros coated in cinnamon sugar served with a rich chocolate dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Boil the mixture: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, and watch as the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble.
  2. Mix the dough: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the flour until combined. You’ll create a thick dough that might look a bit rough, but don’t worry!
  3. Incorporate the eggs: Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Heat the oil: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat to a temperature around 375°F.
  5. Pipe the dough: Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the dough into the hot oil, forming churros of your desired length.
  6. Coat in sugar & cinnamon: Once fried, remove the churros from the oil and roll them in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Prepare the chocolate sauce: Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan and pour it over the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  8. Serve & enjoy: Serve the churros warm with the chocolate sauce for dipping.

Notes

For added flavor, consider infusing the dough with vanilla extract or trying alternative coatings.
