Indulge in this rich and creamy Chocolate Mud Pie with a crunchy chocolate wafer crust and fudgy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer cookies, crushed
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fudge sauce
  • Chocolate shavings or whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the crushed chocolate wafer cookies and melted butter until fully combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to create a sturdy crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they melt and create a smooth mixture.
  6. Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.
  7. Pour half of the chocolate filling into the cooled crust, then layer with a drizzle of fudge sauce.
  8. Pour the remaining chocolate filling over the fudge layer.
  9. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until it’s set.
  10. Serve cold and garnish with chocolate shavings or whipped cream.

Notes

For best results, use fresh heavy cream and consider a pinch of sea salt in the filling for added flavor.
