Indulge in this rich and gooey Chocolate Lava Cake that oozes molten chocolate at first bite.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract, flour, and a pinch of salt until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling them about three-quarters full.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
  8. Cool them for 1 minute, then invert onto plates and serve warm.

Notes

Best served with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries. Can be made a day in advance and baked just before serving.
