A decadent dessert featuring a gooey chocolate center that spills out like lava when cut, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins generously with butter and dust them lightly with flour to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  3. Whisk together the large eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until thick and pale.
  4. Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture gently, being careful not to scramble the eggs.
  5. Fold in the all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the batter is rich and consistent.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the ramekins and bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
  7. Cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates and serve immediately, enjoying the gooey chocolate center.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream for an extra treat.
