Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect combination of chewiness and crunchiness.

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until well incorporated.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze the dough for up to three months.
