A delightful combination of gooey brownies and chewy chocolate chip cookies, these Chocolate Chip Brookies are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and warm your heart.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 3 large eggs (for brownie mix)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for brownie mix)
  • 1/4 cup water (for brownie mix)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in 2 large eggs, one at a time, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  8. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions (mix in 3 eggs, vegetable oil, and water).
  9. Pour the brownie batter over the cookie dough in the baking dish.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. Can be frozen for 2-3 months.
