Delightfully moist muffins filled with gooey caramel, perfect for a cozy treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and milk until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter, add a spoonful of caramel sauce on top, then cover with more batter until 3/4 full.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy the melty caramel center!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
