A comforting and delicious Chicken Parmesan featuring crispy chicken, rich marinara, and melted mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Beat the egg in a shallow dish.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese in another dish.
  5. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  7. Place the browned chicken in a baking dish, cover with marinara, and sprinkle with mozzarella.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Serve over spaghetti or with a Caesar salad. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge or freezer.
