Crispy chicken flautas filled with tender chicken and gooey cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Salt to taste
  • Sour cream (for serving)
  • Guacamole (for serving)
  • Salsa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix the shredded chicken, cheese, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave until pliable.
  3. Assemble the flautas by placing a few tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of the tortilla and rolling it tightly.
  4. Repeat rolling the remaining tortillas with the filling until used up.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat until hot and shimmering.
  6. Fry the rolled flautas until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve immediately with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.

Notes

For a lower-fat option, these flautas can be baked at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
