A luscious, creamy frosting that combines the delightful sweetness of caramel with the rich texture of buttercream.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Butter: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Add the Sweetness: Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating well after each addition.
  3. Mix in the Caramel: Pour in the caramel sauce and mix until smooth.
  4. Adjust the Consistency: If the frosting is too thick, add heavy cream or milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  5. Infuse with Vanilla: Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  6. Serve it Up: Use immediately to frost cakes or cupcakes or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for later use.

Notes

For a salted caramel twist, add sea salt to taste. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
