Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. Combine brown sugar and browned butter in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then add vanilla extract.
  5. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl and gradually incorporate into the wet ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra gooey blondies, consider underbaking slightly. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
