A delightful and indulgent turtle cake made with a box chocolate cake mix, homemade caramel, and topped with pecans and chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  4. Add half of the caramel sauce over the batter and sprinkle with half of the pecans and chocolate chips.
  5. Layer the remaining batter over the top, then add the remaining caramel sauce, pecans, and chocolate chips.
  6. Swirl the toppings into the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool before serving.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with vanilla or salted caramel ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for about a week.
