Delightful Boston Cream Cupcakes filled with creamy custard and topped with a luscious chocolate glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup custard (prepared or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan by lining a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool in the pan.
  8. Fill each cupcake with custard using a sharp knife to cut a small hole on top.
  9. Prepare the chocolate glaze by heating the chocolate chips and heavy cream until melted and smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the filled cupcakes and allow to set before indulging.

Notes

For a flavored twist, try different custard flavors or add espresso powder to the chocolate glaze.
