Delightful rolls filled with a luscious blueberry cream that cascades with every bite, reminiscent of mini dessert lava cakes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warmed milk and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Create the dough: Add the softened butter, egg, and the frothy yeast mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough: Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. First rising: Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Prepare the blueberry filling: Blend the blueberries, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Roll out the dough: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough into an even rectangle.
  8. Shape the rolls: Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake the rolls: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Cool & dust: Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
