Delicious Blackened Shrimp Tacos filled with spicy shrimp and fresh toppings.

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Soft corn or flour tortillas
  • Toppings: shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, avocado, lime wedges, cilantro

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice blend: In a bowl, mix together the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat the shrimp: Toss the shrimp in the spice mixture until they’re beautifully coated.
  3. Heat the skillet: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the hot skillet and let them cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until blackened and cooked through.
  5. Assemble the tacos: Remove the shrimp from heat and assemble your tacos by placing the shrimp inside warm tortillas topped with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, avocado, and fresh cilantro.
  6. Squeeze and serve: Finish with a generous squeeze of lime juice over the top and serve immediately.
