Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the olive oil, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the spice mixture.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are blackened and cooked through.
  4. Warm the tortillas in another skillet or microwave until they are soft and pliable.
  5. Assemble the tacos by placing the blackened shrimp on the tortillas. Top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.
  6. Serve immediately while the tacos are warm.

Notes

Ensure the skillet is hot before adding the shrimp for a beautiful sear. For extra flavor, let the shrimp marinate in the spice mix before cooking.
