  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the fresh blackberries with 1/2 cup of sugar in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract into the dry mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Spoon the blackberry mixture on top of the batter.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
