Delightful and hearty black bean burgers packed with flavor, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Burger buns and toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir in the breadcrumbs, chopped onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until browned and crispy.
  5. Serve the patties on burger buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

For firmer patties, let the mixture rest for 10 minutes before cooking. Experiment with toppings like salsa and chipotle mayo.
