A healthier twist on the classic Big Mac, this refreshing salad combines flavors of beef, pickles, and Thousand Island dressing atop crisp romaine lettuce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pickles, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Season with salt and pepper and drain excess fat.
  2. Prepare the salad base by combining the chopped lettuce, pickles, cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese, and red onion in a large bowl.
  3. Assemble the salad by adding the cooked ground beef on top of the salad mixture.
  4. Dress with Thousand Island dressing and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a leaner version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also add jalapeños for a spicy kick.
