A simple yet delightful dessert that celebrates the bounty of summer berries, this Berry Dump Cake features a luscious berry filling beneath a golden, crumbly crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mixed berries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (optional, for tart berries)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Prep the berries by tossing fresh mixed berries with optional sugar and letting them sit for 10–15 minutes; skip this step if using frozen berries.
  3. Add the mixed berries evenly across the bottom of your prepared dish.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the berry layer without stirring or pressing it down.
  5. Add the melted butter slowly and evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
  6. Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, until golden brown and the berry filling bubbles at the edges.
  7. Cool for 15–20 minutes before serving; top with fresh berries for presentation.

Notes
