A quick, nourishing dish combining tender marinated beef and vibrant broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly, such as flank steak or sirloin)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk the sauce by mixing soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, and brown sugar in a bowl.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the pan in a single layer and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  5. Stir-fry garlic and broccoli in the same pan for about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Return the beef to the pan and pour the prepared sauce over. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Serve hot over a bed of steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For added crunch, sprinkle sesame seeds and fresh green onions on top. Serve with spring rolls or a crisp Asian salad.
