Crispy, spicy Bang Bang Shrimp cloaked in a creamy, tangy sauce. A delightful dish perfect for impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Set aside for the sauce.
  2. Dredge the Shrimp: Take each shrimp and dredge it in cornstarch until well coated. Ensure every inch is covered for that perfect crispiness.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat a suitable amount of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. You’ll want it hot enough to give the shrimp that satisfying sizzle when they hit the pan.
  4. Fry the Shrimp: Gently place the coated shrimp into the hot oil, frying them in batches so they don’t crowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain and Toss: Once fried, drain the shrimp on paper towels to remove excess oil. While they’re still warm, toss the shrimp in the prepared sauce, ensuring each piece gets a beautiful coating.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Serve your Bang Bang Shrimp immediately, garnished with finely sliced green onions for that enticing touch, and watch everyone’s eyes light up as they take their first bite!

Notes

For a healthier version, consider air frying the shrimp for a lighter option without sacrificing too much flavor.
