Crispy shrimp coated in a sweet, spicy, and creamy sauce, perfect for impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce mixture: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  2. Season the cornstarch: In another bowl, season the cornstarch with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge the shrimp: Take each shrimp and dredge it in the seasoned cornstarch, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Heat the oil: In a frying pan over medium-high heat, add enough oil to cover the bottom and let it heat up.
  5. Fry the shrimp: Fry the shrimp in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Drain the shrimp: Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Toss in the sauce: Gently toss the fried shrimp in the prepared sauce mixture until well-coated.
  8. Garnish and serve: Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider baking the shrimp instead of frying.
