A delightful appetizer of crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy, tangy sauce, perfect for gatherings or a quiet evening.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha in a bowl. Set it aside.
  2. Season your shrimp liberally with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each shrimp in cornstarch, then dip in the beaten egg, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Add the shrimp to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Drain the shrimp on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Toss the crispy shrimp with the prepared sauce in a large bowl.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For a healthier option, bake the shrimp at 425°F (220°C) for about 12-15 minutes instead of frying.
