A nostalgic dessert featuring a creamy custard, fresh bananas, and fluffy whipped cream in a flaky pie crust.

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and butter.
  3. Slice the bananas and layer them in the pre-made pie crust.
  4. Pour the warm custard over the bananas, covering them completely.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  6. Top with whipped cream before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days. To prevent bananas from browning, coat them with lemon juice if making ahead.
