A fudgy twist on traditional banana bread that combines rich chocolate with sweet ripe bananas, creating a delightful dessert for any occasion.

  • 3 medium Ripe Bananas
  • 1/2 cup Melted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bananas and mix until creamy.
  5. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and drizzle with the remaining butter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, swap melted butter with coconut oil and milk with almond milk.
