A delightful breakfast sandwich featuring crispy bacon, sweet onion jam, and a perfectly fried egg.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • Cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion in the same skillet until soft.
  3. Mix the crispy bacon with brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper in the skillet. Cook until thickened.
  4. Toast the slices of bread in the skillet for a crisp texture.
  5. Fry an egg in a separate pan or in the same skillet.
  6. Assemble the sandwich with bacon jam, fried egg, optional cheese, and the second slice of bread.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add hot sauce or jalapeños to the jam mixture. Leftover bacon jam can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
