A comforting dessert featuring a gooey center with baked apples and warm spices, perfect for autumn.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg in a mixing bowl until well combined. Press it into the bottom of the baking pan to form a crust.
  3. Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chopped apples and cinnamon into the cream cheese mixture. Pour this over the crust in the baking pan.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the center is set and edges are golden.
  6. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
