A comforting and moist homemade apple cake, perfect for autumn gatherings.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan, ensuring the cake has a good base to rise.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the creamed mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool before serving.
