Delicious low calorie brownies that are rich, fudgy, and guilt-free, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Mix together the applesauce, cocoa powder, honey (or maple syrup), almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Combine the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For a vegan option, use maple syrup and dairy-free chocolate if adding chips.
