  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sift the dry ingredients: Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar to ensure a fine texture.
  2. Whip the egg whites: In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold in the dry ingredients: Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the whipped egg whites until just combined.
  4. Add flavor and color: Mix in vanilla extract and food coloring until evenly incorporated.
  5. Pipe the batter: Pipe small circles of batter onto a lined baking sheet.
  6. Rest the macarons: Let them sit for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms.
  7. Bake the macarons: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Cool & fill: Cool completely before carefully removing from the baking sheet and filling.

Notes

Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for better whipping. Avoid making on humid days for best results.
