A decadent Chocolate Drip Cake with rich ganache that elegantly flows down the sides, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cake (your choice, for layering)
  • Additional decorations (berries, nuts, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Pour the heavy cream into a saucepan and heat it over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a mixing bowl. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes to let the chocolate melt.
  3. Stir the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth, creating a rich, glossy ganache.
  4. Add the corn syrup and vanilla extract to the ganache, stirring until everything is well combined.
  5. Set the ganache aside to cool slightly until it thickens to a pourable consistency.
  6. Place your layered cake on a cooling rack over a tray to catch any drips.
  7. Generously pour the ganache over the top of the cake, letting it flow down the sides.
  8. Allow the ganache to set for a few minutes.
  9. Once the ganache has set, dress up your cake with additional decorations like berries or nuts. Then, slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, let the ganache cool to the right consistency before pouring. Can use different types of chocolate for various flavor profiles.
